So I bet you are wondering what all the hype was last week about what I was so anxiously anticipating. Well here it is.
A few weeks ago I was approached by someone to write a piece about medical tourism in Guanacaste and in particular the areas around the, currently under renovation, Liberia International Airport. Also known as the Daniel Oduber Airport.
To my surprise, the article was going to be featured, in full page spread, inside of the most credible financial newspaper in the country, El Financiero.
Wow! What an honor this was for a Canadian to be given the opportunity to write for such a prestigious newspaper. If you don’t know what El Financiero is, it is the equivalent of the WSJ but in Costa Rica. If you are involved in business in Costa Rica, there is a very good chance this paper finds its way to your desk. It is classified as the definitive source for financial news in the country.
During my research on the piece I was also blessed to have the opportunity to talk with Jaime Cabezas, President of Clinica Biblica, Maggi Cercone, Architect, Ricardo Cordero of CIMA and of course John Scheman of Grupo Do It. It was an incredible experience to get such insight in to the minds of some of the most influential people in the country. I learned a lot from this.
